I’m Leen, a photographer. I work primarily with analogue photography. The process forces me to slow down and look at things differently. Because life already moves so fast. When do we really take the time to look and, more importantly, to let what we see sink in?

I always photograph intuitively, without a predetermined plan. In my experience, having a plan can make my creativity disappear. I also always work in black and white. It just feels right to me. I’m a little nostalgic and I love its timelessness.

Take a moment to feel what you see. Every photograph I make has its own story, but above all, it is an invitation to pause, to look at the familiar in a different way, and to add your own memories and meaning. Make your own story. Because you are you.

I develop my photographs myself in the darkroom and experiment with layers and textures. I mostly photograph people, but my photographs are not always about people. They are often about personal experiences in life and the impact they have on us. I create space for tension, interpretation and recognition.Check out exhibitions (click HERE) to see my work.
